Lusha vs. Synce: Which Tool Delivers the Best Mobile Numbers?
Why reliable data matters
When you’re running sales in the Netherlands and need to reach decision-makers directly, one thing matters most: reliable and up-to-date mobile numbers. This is especially important in niche or smaller markets, where finding each phone number matters since you don’t want to miss out on valuable opportunities.
So as a proof of concept for one of our clients that delivers a SaaS solution for managing deals in manufacturing we put the data to the test.
To put this to the test, we compared Lusha and Synce using identical filters:
Industry: manufacturing
Company size: 10–200 employees
Function: sales manager
Location: Netherlands
Important: only mobile (06) numbers included — no landlines
The Numbers
So let’s check the numbers, in total we put 33 leads to the test resulting in the following find rates:
Lusha | Synce | |
---|---|---|
Total leads | 33 | 33 |
Find rate | 63.6% (21/33) | 78.8% (26/33) |
At first glance, Synce delivers a stronger find rate: nearly 78.8% compared to Lusha’s 63.6%. In practice, this means Synce provides more usable mobile numbers from the exact same target audience.
Overlap and Differences
So now let’s not only look at the find rates, but actually at the overlap & differences between Synce and Lusha:
Count | |
---|---|
Found by Synce, not Lusha | 9 |
Found by Lusha, not Synce | 4 |
Same number found | 12 |
Different number found | 5 |
Neither found a number | 3 |
👉 What stands out: Synce delivers more unique matches (9 extra mobile numbers) compared to Lusha. On top of that, there are 5 cases where both found different numbers — raising questions about the freshness of the data.
Observations on Lusha
During the test, several issues with Lusha became clear:
Lack of transparency on missing numbers: Lusha doesn’t show how many mobile numbers it couldn’t find. As a user, it feels like you’re getting the full picture, but when you double-check the total leads, some are missing.
Landlines count as “phone numbers”: Lusha includes direct landline numbers as valid phone numbers, even though we’re only interested in mobile numbers. This adds noise to the data.
Multiple numbers per contact: In some cases, Lusha enriches two numbers for the same person. While that may sound useful, in practice it’s unclear which one is current or private. This can lead to wasted call attempts or outdated data.
Why Synce Performs Better
Synce stands out by focusing specifically on accurate and current mobile numbers. In practice, this means:
More matches within a niche audience
Cleaner data — no landlines included
Externally verified through a validation system: We use Clearoutphone for our phone number validation. When a phone number is unvalid, we keep on searching in our waterfall without charging any credits to our users. You only get charged if it’s truly valid.
The result: sales teams save time and increase their chances of reaching the right person directly.
